Etude House I Need You, Honey! Wash-off Pack (Review)

Honey has good benefits to the skin but DIY's get pretty messy so I'll stick with products on the market. I went for the Etude House I Need You Honey Wash Off pack, I was moreover interested in the type of extracts included in this pack because it contains honey and eastern medicinal herbs. This is to tighten skin and supply saponins and minerals.

It is also available in "I need you, Yogurt". The yogurt one sounds lovely but quite common whereas "I need you, Honey" has unusual extracts which I find more appealing. If you recognise the names of the eastern herbs it does make it seem a little more grand.

Description:
Go all out with this revitalizing facial massage formulated with medicinal herbs and honey to soften, pamper and nourish skin.

Active Ingredients: Honey, Ginseng, Red Ginseng, Cactus and Angelica extracts.

Pack Size: 48g

Directions:
1. After facial cleansing and prior to toner application.
2. Massage pack onto facial surface. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth.
3. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Packaging:  The Etude House Wash-off Pack looks just the catering butter portion packs. I think the packaging makes it very convenient and hygienic. It'll easily fit in your travel bag etc if you are going to away from home and need a little treat for your skin.

The wash-off pack contains 4 small containers with different extracts inside. Each of the pack contains 12g of the product which is quite a lot for one use but I pile it on my skin anyway. It's possible to use it twice but I was too lazy to wrap them up and store in the fridge - if you do that though make sure you use it the next day because you don't want it to go bad since you have opened it already and exposing to the air.

Red Ginseng + Ginseng pack: Firstly let me tell you what ginseng is. Ginseng is quite a rare root plant because it is only found in the nothern hemisphere. In Chinese it is called 人參 (yun-sam/ren shen) and it costs a bomb. The properties of ginseng is said to help calm the body and relieve stress too. Now the difference between red ginseng and normal ginseng is red ginseng is also steamed and then dried whereas ginseng is dried without steaming. But of course the pack doesn't contain real ginseng; only an extract of it.

The red ginseng is slightly red in colour and the texture is smooth but sticky as it is honey afterall. It has a very strong smell of ginseng so be warned. I like to leave it on for 20 minutes and lie down to enjoy the smell... It feels very refreshing on the skin too.

The white ginseng is orange in colour with little yellow beads (top two links are clickable). It has a less pleasant texture and appearance in my opinion. It looked like I had a skin condition and I even scared myself. Again it has a very strong smell but I like it, it actually smells quite sweet compared to real ginseng. When you wash it off your face it feels really slimy but it goes away afterwards.

Angelica extracts: Angelica soothes skin and constricts pores. The Chinese name for it is 當歸 (dong quai) you may be more familiar with it. This has a slightly different smell from the ginseng but the smell I am most familiar with. I like the smooth texture I'm not keen in the one with bits in it especially how it looks.

Cactus: Sorry I don't have images for this one because I took the pictures and left it on someone else's laptop but I'll update this section later. This one has red bits in it which is more alarming than the white ginseng. I guess the little beads help exfoliating when you wash it off. Cactus helps to moisturise your skin and prevent premature aging.

Price: $6.68USD (~£4) I'll link it here

What I like:
- I personally think they smell good! You'll be like "wth is she serious" if you tried it out yourself especially if you aren't familiar with the smell. I don't know I just like the smell it reminds me of herbs shops and just brings back memories. o-o'' lol!
- Interesting packaging that looks like butter packs
- It's very relaxing on the skin
- Makes you feel refreshed after use
- Interesting extracts used. Never used products that contains these types of medicinal herbs.
- Inexpensive

What I dislike:
- Takes a while to wash off the honey!
- Can get a little sticky and/or messy again because of the honey.
- I felt a bit indifferent after using probably because with skincare you really need to use it religiously to see results.
- I favour the smooth textures more so I wish there were individual purchase available rather than having 4 different types of the mask
- The smell is pretty strong if you are not used to herbs smell you might not enjoy the mask as much
- Short use; 4 uses. But you may stretch it to 8 times only if you use half each time.

Will I repurchase:
Yes definitely! I would like to try the yogurt wash off pack too.

Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss (Review)

Hello~ Today I will be reviewing My Milky Gloss in MPK003 Strawberry Latte from the newest makeup line of Etude House "Dear My". The Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss consists of 8 colours. There is also the shimmery type called My Crystal Gloss which also has 8 colours available for you to choose from.

Description:
– Plain color without glitter makes lips mild & lovely.
– Less sticky and smooth texture gives natural shine and vitality to lips.
Content: 4.5g

Price: $8.98 from Cosmetic Love, link here.

It comes in a long round tube sponge applicator.

It's a real pretty colour. When I first saw it, it reminded me of the Candy Doll Lip Gloss.
It's quite a sheer light pink colour it shows better on my hand than my lips. The colour appears to be quite sheer and subtle on my lips. It's meant to go well with the Dear My Blooming lipstick.

The formula is very thick but not that sticky. It's kind of like a gel and goes on your lips smoothly. It's quite a buildable colour but it'll feel very heavy on the lips.

Pros
-Many colours to choose from.
-Smells delicous! It smells of strawberries.
-Looks like Candy Doll lipgloss, but half the price of it.
-Makes your lips look juicy and plump.
-Love the packaging
-Very long lasting
-Glossy finish

Cons
-Not very pigmented I only managed to see a small pink tint
I was hoping for the colour to show better. It'll end up looking
like a clear gloss if you have pigmented lips.
-Quite thick formula so feels kind of heavy

Diamond Lash Angel Eye (Review)

Description
Diamond Lash Angel is prestigious in Japan. It is easily found in various Japanese fashion magazine. It has an excellent texture and perfect fake eyelashes to make your eyes more striking and dimensional. It renders you a pair of enticing, angel-like eyes which is for sure eye-catching. It adds a sense elegance to your whole image.

Natural from formal affairs to just a night out on the town with friends, Diamond Lash are just what you need to create glamorous looking lashes.

5 pairs of eyelashes are included.

Country of Origin
Japan

How to Use
  1. If necessary, trim the outer end with scissors.
  2. Apply a thin line of lash adhesive along the band. Hold for 30 seconds until adhesive becomes tacky.
  3. Place band against eyelid as close to lash roots as possible.
  4. Gently press corners and along the band to secure.
  5. To remove, gently peel band off lid, starting from the outer corner.

Design and Quality: ★★★★★
Now these lashes are from their first series and they are made to look dramatic. If you like natural you should definitely check out their new "Little Wink" series. I love dramatic lashes (other days I prefer natural lol it all depends on the mood :3). They do look a bit shiny, especially when you have your eyes closed and maybe try and avoid flash photography. I like how it has a clear invisible lash band and it's very thin too so you can easily mould it to your eye shape.

Length and volume: ★★★★★
They are pretty thick and voluminous lashes despite having small gaps between them. The lashes were too long in width for me but this way it creates the droopy effect which is kinda cute too.

Comfort: ★★★★☆
It's fairly comfortable to wear and don't irritate my eyes but I can still feel them being there. After a while it feels a bit heavy and it makes me think that I don't have my eyes open properly, like they're only half open or something.

Reusability: ★★★★★
They're very sturdy lashes despite having a thin lash band. I'd say very durable lashes I’ve used these many times there isn't much sign of wear.

Price: ★★★★★
Great value I got them from Sasa.com for $13.50USD(~£8.50). Can check it out here but this design is currently out of stock there are a few others you might be interested in.

Overall Rating: ★★★★☆
I really like these lashes. They are pretty and I like how they are popular amongst gyarus. This is my first time trying Diamond Lashes and I am so pleased with the quality and the price. I will be repurchasing from this brand in the future.

Circle Lenses After Effects

This post is based on my own opinion and you may not agree with the content. I just want to share my experience with circle lenses, that is all. This is my outcome with them and it may not affect everyone who wears them but I was one of the unlucky ones who were affected.

Circle lenses are still widely accepted, particularly among asians. You often see on the news, circle lenses are dangerous for you, but those who wear them will think that it's the media trying to stir up some sort of controversy.

There are real dangers of circle lenses, even if you are very careful. I never had the courage to post this and it has been in my draft since February. It was not until yesterday Mint published a post about how defective circle lenses damaged her eyes I feel that this issue has become serious and you simply can't turn a blind eye to this. I feel that I too should speak out.

I don't know if you noticed but I have repeatedly been saying I no longer wear online circle lens in my posts. I made my post about FDA approved circle lens and I stated online circle lenses are beyond comparable in comfort-wise, and the main reason I don't wear them. In fact there was more to it than just that.

Reason why I don't wear them anymore
Online circle lenses were not only uncomfortable to wear, it started to change my vision. Ever since I bought from the same company as where Mint had got her defective circle lenses my vision got blurry. At first I worn them with ease. They have never been comfortable, but tolerable.

I never had problems with my eyes, I had perfect vision, until now. Not being able to see clearly has frustrated me, especially that I used to be able to see clearly. My eyes have been extremely sensitive. My eyes have become so dry and red all the time. I relied on eye drops because my eyes don't produce enough tears.

Have you ever inserted your contact lenses the wrong way and your eyes scrunch up because it stings it feels horrible and you desperately want to take them out but you can't because your eyes won't open up due to the shock? Sometimes when I close my eyes, especially when I sleep I get that feeling, it's only mild, but I still feel it. I have that scrunched up feeling and that feeling of constantly, even when I don't wear circle lenses.

Why are they Dangerous?
Circle lenses have enlarging effects, which means they don't fit the iris size. This can scratch the cornea and will cause vision problems, irritation and infections. No they are not the same risk as normal lenses. Yes they both carry a risk but it is higher with circle lenses because they cover more of the white area of the eye. Cheap lenses mean cheap labour and cheap materials. They have been made in line production and there is little quality control. Less water content means less oxygen to your eyes. The lenses aren't FDA approved, you have no idea how it was produced. They may follow less safety regulations.

Now that it is apparent that an online shop has defective circle lens, this will be even more high risk. Take extra caution if you are buying online, the company may have good reviews, but you just never know.

Words from a Hk Singer
Ava Yukiu posted a video on her Youtube last year and spoke briefly about circle lenses. When I watched it I didn't take much into account what she really said about it. But afterwards it struck me so I went back to watch this video. She speaks Cantonese in this video she spoke about how after one incident, due to her job, she got a eye examination and that put an end to her buying from online shops. She didn't go into detail why but she did say had an eye infection. She also states:

"It doesn't make sense when you think about it. Why do normal contact lenses require you to go to opticians to prescribe you with lenses but with circle lenses you do not?"

"But I still want to wear them.."
Well it's your life, your decisions, I can't stop you from wearing them. I would however, recommend you to wear them for 2-3 hours maximum, or when you notice a change in your eyes. Do they feel too dry? Is it starting to get uncomfortable? Remove them as soon as possible. Remember have clean hands before you come in contact with your eyes. If you are out I would aways always bring a contact lens case and eye solution. When your eyes are completely blood shot it's not exactly attractive even if you are wearing the lenses, take them out before you look possessed. Have the eye solution with you, you may not have time to clean them thoroughly, but soak them in solution otherwise they will dry out.

Also depending on how often you wear one pair of circle lenses, if frequently worn it the lens should only last about one month, if you wear them 2-3 times a month you can reuse them for up to 6 months. Don't wait until then, bin them sooner. You have no idea how much bacteria has accumulated on that lens, even with proper cleaning procedures. Bin them a few months before they expire, buy new ones and replace the lens as well as the case.

Problems don't occur overnight you need to take precaution if something doesn't seem right bin them straight away.

Alternatives to non FDA Circle Lenses (what's the difference?)
FDA approved lenses have a national standard of a safety test. I made the post here about the Acavue lens. Go for bigger brands with good reputation. They are more expensive and may not be as eye catching, but they are so much safer to wear and worth it.

Remember, your eyes are precious.
You don't realise the precious things in life. Until you lose it. Your eyes help you witness things in life, we should all be thankful we have a set to explore the world with. Not everyone are lucky enough to see the beauty in this world, physically. That's why you want your eyesight until the day you may become grandparents, great grandparents (or maybe you don't want kids but basically until, well, the end of your days). You don't want to lose your eyesight until that day comes.
